The space

Step inside this former artist's studio, spanning 55 square meters, and let yourself be captivated by its bohemian, timeless atmosphere. Nestled in a charming courtyard in the heart of Rouen's historic district, this unique apartment welcomes you to one of the city's most sought-after pedestrian streets, just steps from boutiques, restaurants, museums, and iconic monuments.

The creative spirit of the place still lingers: the artist who worked here has just left his studio, leaving behind his brushes, canvases, and singular world. In the vast, light-filled living room, a piano takes pride of place, inviting contemplation. The spacious and comfortable living area also features two sofa beds that can accommodate two additional guests.

Located on the ground floor (accessible via a few steps), the apartment offers a peaceful and authentic setting, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city while remaining close to its vibrant atmosphere.

The functional and well-equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave. To start your day off right, you'll also find a coffee maker and kettle for enjoying your breakfasts in complete tranquility.

The bedroom, furnished with a double bed, offers a pleasant view of the inner courtyard, guaranteeing peace and serenity after a day of exploring. Adjacent to the bedroom, the bathroom retains its old-world charm. While not the most modern, it remains practical and functional with its sink, toilet, and bathtub.

Whether you're visiting Rouen for a romantic weekend, a cultural getaway, or a longer stay, this unique place promises an inspiring escape, a blend of art, history, and the good life.

Bed linen and towels are provided for your comfort. The property does not have private parking, but you can park in the Rouen Cathedral car park located a few meters away. For your convenience, Rouen train station is just a 16-minute walk away.

The accommodation is managed by the L’ArchiDuchesse Concierge Service, available 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. To finalize your reservation and obtain the access codes, a credit card authorization will be requested via a secure link. If you wish to extend your stay, a one-time fee of €10 applies for early arrival or late departure, subject to availability and prior agreement from our team.

The neighborhood

Staying in the Cathedral Quarter offers a true immersion into the soul of Rouen. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a picture-perfect setting: cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, historic facades, and lively terraces combine to create the timeless charm of the historic center.

Just a few steps away, the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral reveals its soaring spires and its famous portal, immortalized by Claude Monet. As you stroll, let yourself be surprised by the city's treasures: the Gros-Horloge (Great Clock), museums, picturesque squares, and numerous monuments that tell the story of over a thousand years of history.

The neighborhood is also one of the most vibrant and sought-after in Rouen. Here you'll find a multitude of restaurants, cafés, tea rooms, and independent boutiques, perfect for strolling and enjoying the Norman way of life. The market, the charming pedestrian streets, and the gourmet shops invite you to slow down and savor every moment.

Despite its lively atmosphere, the district retains a peaceful and authentic feel, where you can happily lose yourself in the medieval alleyways and admire the play of light on the ancient stones.

Transportation

In addition to its central location, the district is well-served by public transportation, including buses and the Rouen metro.

Rouen Rive Droite train station is about a 15-minute walk away, or just a few minutes by metro or bus. Regular trains connect to Paris Saint-Lazare (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes), Le Havre, Deauville, and Caen.

The "Palais de Justice" station, located approximately an 8-minute walk away, provides access to the metro (tram) line connecting the city from north to south, passing through: Boulingrin (right bank), Saint-Sever, Le Grand-Quevilly, Petit-Quevilly, Sotteville-lès-Rouen, and the Madrillet Technopole.

Numerous bus lines cross or pass near the Cathedral district. The "République" station is served by several lines, including lines 11, F1, and F7 (high-frequency lines), which cover a large part of the Rouen metropolitan area. These lines allow you to easily reach more distant neighborhoods or specific tourist attractions.
The "Cathédrale" station is served by several TEOR lines (T1, T2, T3), also crosses the city center from west to east, and stops nearby. These TEOR lines have the advantage of running very frequently and using dedicated lanes, avoiding traffic congestion.

Public transport generally runs until midnight from Monday to Saturday.

Rouen has an extensive network of cycle paths and several self-service bike stations near the historic center.

Although the historic center is largely pedestrianized, several secure parking lots are located nearby: Cathedral Parking, Courthouse Parking, and City Hall Parking.

To avoid traffic in the city center, free park-and-ride facilities are available at the entrances to Rouen, with direct connections to the metro and TEOR bus lines.

The Cathedral Quarter is the historic heart of Rouen and is best explored on foot. From the apartment, you can reach the following in just a few minutes:
• The Gros-Horloge (7 min)
• The Place du Vieux-Marché (12 min)
• The Museum of Fine Arts (11 min)
• The Seine riverbanks (10 min)
• Rouen Rive Droite train station (15-20 min)
• Numerous restaurants, shops, bakeries, cafes, and markets

The pedestrian streets and half-timbered houses offer a particularly pleasant setting for strolling and discovering the city.

In short, whether by metro, bus, bike, or on foot, the Rouen Cathedral district is perfectly connected, making it easy for visitors to get around the city.

Other things to note

Please note that the apartment is located on the raised ground floor of the building. All rooms are on the same level. Guests with reduced mobility or those carrying large suitcases may experience access difficulties.

Self check-in is available for added flexibility. Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM.

The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, available 7 days a week (from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM). In the house, all our guests receive linens, essential toiletries for the first day (shampoo, shower gel, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc.), as well as a large towel per person, along with tea towels and a bath mat in each bathroom. A welcome kit including kitchen and bathroom trash bags, a sponge, and dishwashing liquid is provided free of charge upon arrival for the duration of your stay.

We are committed to providing a pleasant experience; however, please note that we are not a hotel service. Mid-stay cleaning, linen/towel refreshments, restocking of essential items, or deliveries can be arranged upon request for an additional fee. Enjoying a rental also means respecting a few rules to ensure everything runs smoothly and to avoid any surprises with your security deposit! Please take care of the accommodation as if it were your own: avoid damage, respect the furniture, and leave the premises clean upon your departure. Please follow the instructions regarding schedules and the use of equipment, and respect the peace and quiet of the neighbors. And if any small problem arises, please don't hesitate to let us know. Please note that parties are strictly prohibited (€250 will be deducted from the deposit), the accommodation is entirely non-smoking (€50 will be deducted from the deposit), pets are prohibited (€50 will be deducted from the deposit) unless requested and agreed upon in advance by us, and any loss, theft, or damage will be charged at the actual replacement value.
