ArchiDuchesse Conciergerie has selected JACKY for you, a refurbished flat for two people, ideally situated on Rue Damiette, right in the heart of Rouen’s historic quarter. About a 15-minute walk from the station, it offers the perfect location for exploring the historic centre, whilst making your arrival and parking easy.

The space

Welcome to this charming two-room flat, recently and carefully renovated to offer you a comfortable and authentic experience in the heart of Rouen’s historic quarter. Situated on Rue Damiette, just a few steps from Saint-Maclou Church, this cosy retreat under the eaves is the ideal place to explore Rouen on foot and fully enjoy its unique atmosphere.

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be charmed by the distinctive character of this flat, nestled on the second-and-a-half floor (no lift) of a period building. Once you’ve stepped through the door and climbed the stairs, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, where all the appliances are brand new (fridge, oven, etc.), allowing you to cook with ease and feel right at home from the very first moment.

To the left, the master bedroom offers a gentle, restful atmosphere. Fitted with a comfortable double bed, it also has its own en-suite bathroom with a washbasin and shower, creating a truly intimate suite perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The separate toilet provides added convenience for everyday use.

As you continue your tour, you’ll discover a spacious living area bathed in natural light. Thanks to the skylights that open out onto the Rouen sky, this space enjoys exceptional natural light throughout the day. Beneath the exposed beams and high ceilings typical of loft apartments, you’ll enjoy a warm and soothing atmosphere, ideal for sharing a meal, working in peace or simply unwinding.

From the flat, it takes just a few minutes to reach Saint-Maclou Church, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Place du Vieux-Marché or the banks of the Seine. Restaurants, lively terraces, antique shops, art galleries and food shops line the surrounding streets and contribute to the neighbourhood’s incomparable charm.

Bed linen and towels are provided for your comfort. The accommodation does not have private parking, but you can park at the Hotel de Ville car park, located just a few metres away.

The accommodation is managed by Conciergerie L’ArchiDuchesse, which can be contacted 7 days a week from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 21.00. To finalise your booking and obtain the access codes for the accommodation, you will be asked to provide a credit card authorisation via a secure link. If you’d like to extend your stay, a one-off fee of €10 applies for early arrival or late departure, subject to availability and prior approval from our team. We’d be grateful if you could take care of the property and be considerate of the neighbours, and we wish you a wonderful stay in Rouen.

Neighbourhood

Staying just a stone’s throw from Saint-Maclou Church means immersing yourself in the very heart of Rouen. A true gem of Normandy’s heritage, this iconic neighbourhood transports you through the centuries, amongst cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and façades steeped in history.

First thing in the morning, let yourself be swept away by the peaceful atmosphere of the narrow medieval streets. Enjoy a coffee on a terrace on the charming Rue Damiette, and wander amongst the art galleries, independent shops and antique dealers that give this authentic and lively neighbourhood its unique charm.

Just a few metres away, Saint-Maclou Church reveals its impressive Flamboyant Gothic architecture, considered one of Rouen’s finest monuments. As you continue your stroll, in just a few minutes you’ll reach the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral, immortalised by Claude Monet, as well as the Place du Vieux-Marché, a key site in the history of Joan of Arc.

The Saint-Maclou district is also a feast for food lovers. Traditional restaurants, wine bars, tea rooms and lively terraces line the narrow streets, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere day and night. Whether you’re a fan of Normandy’s local cuisine, international dishes or simply looking for a pleasant terrace to enjoy the long summer evenings, you’ll always find somewhere to linger.

Just a few minutes’ walk away, the banks of the Seine offer a more peaceful retreat for a stroll at sunset, whilst the museums, markets and numerous cultural events bring the historic centre to life all year round.

With its exceptional heritage, relaxed way of life and quintessentially Rouen atmosphere, the Saint-Maclou district is undoubtedly one of the finest places to discover Rouen.

Transport

As well as being central, the neighbourhood is well served by public transport, whether by bus or the Rouen metro.

Rouen Rive Droite station is about a 15-minute walk or a few minutes by bus away. Regular trains run to Paris Saint-Lazare (around 1 hour 15 minutes), Le Havre, Deauville and Caen.

The ‘Palais de Justice’ station, about a 10-minute walk away, provides access to the metro (tram) line running from north to south through: Boulingrin (right bank), Saint-Sever, Le Grand-Quevilly, Petit-Quevilly, Sotteville-lès-Rouen and the Madrillet Technology Park.

Numerous bus routes run through or pass close to the Saint-Maclou neighbourhood. The “République” stop is served by several routes, notably routes 11, F1 and F7 (high-frequency services), which cover a large part of the Rouen metropolitan area. These routes allow you to travel easily to more distant neighbourhoods or to specific tourist attractions.
The “Cathédrale” stop is served by several TEOR routes (T1, T2, T3), which also cross the city centre from WEST to EAST and stop nearby. These TEOR routes have the advantage of running very frequently and using dedicated lanes, thus avoiding traffic jams.

Public transport generally runs until midnight from Monday to Saturday.

Rouen has an extensive network of cycle paths and several bike-share stations near the historic centre.

Although the historic centre is largely pedestrianised, there are several secure car parks nearby: the Cathédrale car park and the Town Hall car park.
To avoid traffic in the city centre, free park-and-ride facilities are available at the entrances to Rouen, with direct connections to the metro and the TEOR lines.

The pedestrianised streets and half-timbered houses provide a particularly pleasant setting for strolling and exploring the city.

In short, whether by metro, bus, bike or on foot, Rouen’s Saint-Maclou district is perfectly connected to make it easy for visitors to get around the city.
