The space

Welcome to this charming, fully renovated 17 m² studio, Shelter 1, which is ideal for a stay in Rouen, whether you’re visiting for leisure or business. Located on the ground floor at 125 Rue du Champ des Oiseaux, you’ll enjoy a peaceful setting and a neighbourhood full of character, marked by the architectural elegance of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From the apartment, you can walk to Rouen station in just 7 minutes, whilst the historic centre and its picturesque streets are about a 15-minute walk away.

The neighbourhood has all the necessary amenities close by: a Carrefour City, a chemist’s, a bakery, a butcher’s and a greengrocer’s are just 200 metres from the property. Perfect for a hassle-free stay, whether for a few days of exploring, a business trip or a getaway in Normandy.

Designed to offer all the necessary comforts, you’ll enjoy a cosy living area with a 140 x 190 cm double bed and a fitted, fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing your own meals thanks to the hob, fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster to get your day off to a good start.

For your comfort, bed linen and towels are provided in the accommodation.

The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, which can be contacted 7 days a week from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 9.00 pm. We would be grateful if you could take good care of the property and respect both the premises and the neighbourhood. To finalise your booking and receive the access codes for the property, you will be asked to provide a credit card authorisation via a secure link. Would you like to extend your stay? Neighbourhood

The station district in Rouen is a lively and iconic area, situated around Rouen-Rive-Droite station, which connects the city to major destinations such as Paris, Le Havre and Caen. It is a neighbourhood at the crossroads of history, commerce and everyday life, with a lively atmosphere thanks to the travellers, shops and residents who live there. Here is an overview of the neighbourhood’s highlights:

1. Architecture and heritage
   The station itself is a remarkable 19th-century building, with its neoclassical architecture and grand hall, which has retained its original character. Built between 1913 and 1928, the building is typical of the style of the period, featuring beautiful glass roofs and a majestic façade. Around the station, there are several historic buildings, such as half-timbered houses, Haussmann-style buildings and beautiful Art Deco structures. Some buildings, although old, have been renovated to give the neighbourhood a facelift.

2. Cosmopolitan and commercial atmosphere
   The station district is also known for its cosmopolitan feel, welcoming thousands of travellers every day. There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, bars and small shops. Local shops and more modern chains coexist, offering a wide range of options to residents and visitors alike. Rue Jeanne-d’Arc, which connects the station directly to the historic centre, is one of the main shopping streets.

3. Proximity to educational and cultural institutions
   The neighbourhood is home to several major institutions, including primary and secondary schools, as well as the University of Rouen, which attracts a student population.
   Just a few minutes’ walk away, you can visit cultural venues such as the Rouen Museum of Fine Arts, one of the richest collections in France outside Paris.

Transport

At Rouen Rive Droite station, several modes of transport are available to facilitate travel around the city and the region. Here is an overview of the main options:

1. Bus
   Rouen station is served by several bus routes operated by Astuce, the transport network of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis.
   The main routes include the F1, F2 and F3 lines, as well as other local bus routes connecting to various neighbourhoods in Rouen and the surrounding area.

2. Métrobus
   Rouen has a light rail system (known as the Métrobus) which runs close to the station.
   The Gare-Rue Verte metro station is located a few minutes’ walk from the SNCF railway station and provides quick access to the city centre and other neighbourhoods.

3. TEOR
   The TEOR is a dedicated-lane public transport system that resembles a tram on tyres. It is a fast way to get around the city.
   Several TEOR lines (such as the T1, T2 and T3) serve Rouen station, making it easy to reach various points of interest in the city centre and on the outskirts.

4. Taxis
   A taxi rank is located just outside the station. Taxis are generally available at all times for journeys to more specific destinations.

5. Bike-share schemes and bike racks
   Rouen offers a bike-share scheme called Cy’clic. There is a station near the station where you can hire a bike for a ride around town.
   Bike racks are also available near the station for travellers who prefer to bring their own bike.

6. Car-sharing and car-hailing services
   Car-sharing and car-hailing services such as Citiz are also available in Rouen, with stations near the station.

7. Car hire
   Car hire agencies (such as Europcar, Hertz, etc.) are also located near the station for those who prefer to hire a vehicle for a longer period.

8. Airport shuttle services
   Although Rouen does not have a major airport, shuttle and bus services are available to take you to Paris or Beauvais airports for flights.
   These various transport options ensure that Rouen station is well connected to the rest of the city and the region, making it easier for residents and visitors to get around.

Check-in is self-service for greater flexibility. Check-in is from 4.00 pm and check-out must be by 11.00 am at the latest.

The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, available 7 days a week (from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm). Upon arrival, all our guests are provided with linen, essential toiletries for the first day (shampoo, shower gel, hand wash, toilet paper, etc.), as well as one large towel per person, along with tea towels and a bath mat for each bathroom. A welcome kit containing kitchen bin bags, bathroom bin bags, a sponge and washing-up liquid is provided free of charge on arrival for the duration of your stay.

When renting a property, it’s also important to follow a few rules to ensure everything goes smoothly and to avoid any surprises with your deposit! Remember to look after the property as if it were your own: avoid causing damage, treat the furniture with care, and leave the place clean when you leave. Follow the guidelines regarding times and the use of facilities, and be considerate of the neighbours. And if any minor issues arise, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Please note that parties are strictly prohibited (€250 will be deducted from the deposit), the property is entirely non-smoking (€50 will be deducted from the deposit), pets are not allowed (€50 will be deducted from the deposit) unless prior permission has been granted by us, and any loss, theft or damage will be charged at the actual replacement value.
